NOTE
We have over the years offered the AXIS ETRAX family of System-On-Chips to the market.
Due to our long-term strategic direction to grow the Network Video market we have therefore changed focus in our coming future chip roadmap. The current ETRAX family of chips will be the last commercially chips offered to the market.
Future generations will be targeted for the Network Video market. These will not be publicly available.
We will continue to support and maintain the technology for the following years to come according to the below time table:
| System-On-Chip\ Device Servers | Last-time-Buy date | Last-date-of-support/ Warranty | Last-date-of-new-features in SDK |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETRAX 100LX | 2010-07-31 | 2011-07-31 | 2009-12-31 |
| ETRAX FS | 2010-07-31 | 2011-07-31 | 2009-12-31 |
| ETRAX MCM 4+16 | 2009-10-30 | 2010-10-30 | 2009-10-30 |
| AXIS 82+/83+ | 2009-07-31 | 2010-07-31 | 2009-07-31 |
| AXIS 88/89 | 2009-07-31 | 2010-07-31 | 2009-07-31 |
The ETRAX family of chips has been developed over the last 15 years. The manufacturing process of the chipsets is getting well matured and will over the foreseeable future eventually become obsolete. This fact, together with that Axis will not continue the general networking roadmap with ETRAX but instead focus on chipsets specifically targeted for the Network Video business. This new chipset family will not be publicly available for sales.
One year after the Last-Time-Buy date of each chip. Axis intend to remain committed to the communicated LTB dates on our website. Customers need to follow the Axis Chip Handling Policy and Soldering Profiles: http://www.axis.com/techsup/dev/chip_handl_policy.htm for storing, handling and manufacturing with the chips.
Due to various intellectual property rights we cannot do this.
Yes, as long as you follow each individual source-code package license and do not break any of the rules set forth in the terms.
As each customer has infinite unique needs and demands, Axis cannot do porting nor development support to any and all new platforms customers might want to migrate to.
